Alerjik Rinit Tanısında Basit Sitolojik Bir Yöntemin Güvenliğinin Değerlendirilmesi*Erişen L., Basut O., Onart S., Tezel İ.Amaç: Alerjik rinitleri nonalerjik rinitlerden ayırmak için basit, kolay, hızlı ve güvenilir bir yöntemi uygulamaya koyabilmek.
Hastalar ve Yöntemler: Alerjik rinit yakınmaları olan 20 hastanın nazal sitolojik incelemelerinde Testsimplets® hazır boyalı lam kullanılarak hassasiyeti, May-Grünwald-Giemsa boyama yöntemi, prick deri testi, intradermal test ve spesifik IgE ile karşılaştırıldı.
Bulgular: Nazal sitoloiide eozinofillerin değerlendirilmesi açısından hazır boyalı lam ve May-Grünwald-Giemsa yöntemi arasında bir fark bulunamadı (p>0.05). Alerji test sonuçları ve hazır boyalı lam ile değerlendirilen eozinofili bulguları arasında anlamlı ilişki saptandı (p<0.01).
Sonuç: Kullanılan hazır boyalı lamlar ile nazal sitolojilerin kısa sürede değerlendirilebilir hale geldiği, mikroskop dışında ek bir donanım gerektirmediği, alerjik rinit tanısında spesifik testler kadar hassas olduğu sonucuna varıldı.
Evaluation of Reliability of a Simple Cytologic Method in the Diagnosis of Allergic RhinitisErişen L., Basut O., Onart S., Tezel İ.Objectives: To evaluate a simple, quick and reliable method in distinguishing allergic rhinitis from nonallergic rhinitis.
Patients and Methods: Testsimplets® readystained microslide was used in the nasal cytologic examinations of 20 patients with allergic rhinitis complaints, and its sensitivity was evaluated in relation to May Grünwald-Giemsa staining, prick skin test and intradermal test results, and specific IgE measurements.
Results: No significant difference was found between the ready-stained microslide and May-Grünwald-Giemsa methods with respect to the evaluation of eosinophils using nasal cytology (p>0.05). However, a significant relationship was found between the allergy test results and eosinophil findings obtained with the ready-stained microslide method (p<0.01).
Conclusian: It was found that nasal cytologies could be readily evaluated in a shorter time using the ready-stained microslides, without the need for any additional equipment bul microscope and with as much sensitivity as that of specific tests used in the diagnosis of allergic rhinitis.
