Sfenoid Sinüste Optik Kiazma: Olgu SunumuÖzlüoğlu L. N., Erkan A.N., Çaylaklı F., Çağıcı C. A.Fonksiyonel endoskopik sinüs cerrahisi, burun kavitesi ve paranazal sinüs kronik enflamasyon ve tümörlerinin tedavisinde popülarite kazanmaktadır. Göz ve optik sinir yaralanmaları gibi ciddi komplikasyonlardan kaçınmak için cerrahi öncesinde sinonazal anatomi değerlendirilmelidir. Cerrah, her olguda paranazal sinüslerle optik sinirin ilişkisini iyi değerlendirmelidir. Bu bilgi, arka etmoid ve sfenoid sinüsleri içeren cerrahiyi planlamada ve uygulamada çok önemlidir. Bu yazıda, sinüzit nedeniyle tetkik ve tedavi edilen 18 yaşında bir erkek hasta sunuldu. Hastanın paranazal sinüs tomografisinde, optik kiazmanın sfenoid sinüs içerisinde olduğu görüldü. Literatür araştırmalarımıza göre hastamız, bu yerleşim yerinde bildirilen ilk optik kiazma olgusudur.

A.Functional endoscopic sinus surgery is gaining popularity as a mode of treating chronic inflammation and tumors of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. To avoid serious complications, such as orbit and optic nerve injuries, a complete evaluation of sinonasal anatomy should be done prior to surgery. In each case, the surgeon must have a clear understanding of the relationship between the paranasal sinuses and the course of the optic nerve. This knowledge is critical for planning and performing surgery involving the posterior ethmoid and sphenoid sinuses. This report discusses the case of an 18-year-old male with sinusitis. Radiological evaluation of the paranasal sinuses revealed that the patient’s optic chiasm was in the sphenoid sinus. To the authors’ knowledge, this is the first documented case of optic chiasm in this location.
