Microendoscopic Surgery Of Nasal Cavity, Sinuses And Nasopharynx İn ChildrenZyabkin I., Karpova Y.Introduction: Last decade development of methods of functional microendoscopic rhinosurgery has considerably expanded opportunities in treatment of chronic diseases of a nasal cavity, sinuses and nasopharynx in children (Haltom J.R., Cannon C.R., 1998) . These methods have strongly borrowed leading positions concerning classical methods (Risavi R., Klapan I., Handzic-Cuk J., et al., 1998). Material & Method: We have reviewed 178 children with chronic rhinosinusitis upon whom the microendoscopic surgical procedures were performed within the period from 1999 till 2003 years. In analyzing the results it was noted that the inflammatory process within the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses touches upon almost all the levels to a certain extent. Results: In 136 (91,9%) patients nasal endoscopy and CT-scanning revealed a combined patology with different anatomical localization. All patients underwent one-step microendoscopic procedure with 91% of good results. Conclusions: The results allowed us to come to the conclusion, that one-step surgical procedure for correction of the endonasal structures and inflammatory process management in children is the method of choice.
